lego mindstorms nxt robotics gravity sensor cinderella geometry software macbook robot remote control apple
Description: In this video we show how to use the gravity sensor of a Apple MacBook Pro in order to remote control a LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT robot. They connect via bluetooth, and the Interactive Geometry Software Cinderella.2 is used as controlling software. It reads the data from the gravity sensor of the MacBook, processes it and then controls the motors of the NXT robot accordingly. More info about Cinderella at http://cinderella.de, contact: kortenkamp@cinderella.de. Recorded at the University of Education Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany. |

Holywar90 ::: Favorites 2007-11-25 04:20:43 well i will say that you have one of the most expensive remotes for a Nxt i have ever seen.. but on the other hand good idea ... i doubt many people would ever think of what your useing. __________________________________________________
Kortenkamp ::: Favorites 2007-10-18 02:04:32 It might be possible to do it with a Thinkpad, as they carry the hardware; however, I could not figure out how to access the data from the gravity sensor there. __________________________________________________
mst2chill ::: Favorites 2007-10-17 15:29:52 that is great but can it be done also with an microsoft notebook ? __________________________________________________
Kortenkamp ::: Favorites 2007-09-18 13:28:02 No, no tricks, and the other person just operates the camera for the video. The tilt of the MacBook Pro can be read from a hardware sensor that usually protects the hard drive. See my homepage for a Java library to read the sensor (it's called "Jilt", just google for "jilt kortenkamp" and you will find it). __________________________________________________
lexusnut ::: Favorites 2007-09-18 11:59:24 This MUST BE a blue tooth but now do you make controls with tilting? There must be a trick to this. Maybe someone else is standing behind the scenes? __________________________________________________

plaetzchen86 ::: Favorites 2007-07-25 14:16:51 May you can make a how to? I would like to do something similar. How did you do that? Any Details? __________________________________________________
Kortenkamp ::: Favorites 2007-07-13 16:54:42 Yep, it's using bluetooth. In fact, It's just a two line script within Cinderella, reading the data from the motion sensor and then passing that on to the NXT... feel free to send me a mail to kortenkamp at cinderella dot de for details... __________________________________________________
