Also, if the craft *WAS* at an altitude where they could achieve a geosynchronous orbit, it would put them smack dab in the middle of the Van Allen belts, which you guys claim are lethal to humans.

No. What you're describing is a geosynchronous orbit, which cannot happen at an altitude lower than 22,300 miles. Sibrel says they're only a few hundred miles up, meaning the craft needs to be moving at around 17,000 mph to remain in orbit.
At that speed, earth CANNOT remain motionless as viewed through a window. Sibrel's theory is therefore impossible.

no sure in principle you would expect it to be moving as earth moving so fast, thats if the space vechicle was static if it was moving with the earth orbit then it would appear as it does in this film..so i understand what you getting at

So let's clarify. Will an image of earth shot through a porthole from low orbit (200-300 miles up) appear as a static image, or will it appear to be in motion?
